What we do
We provide education and training to enhance activities of daily living.
Promoting financial literacy through handling money, purchasing and shopping, budgeting and banking. Skill Development including time and calendar, food preparation, drivers ed and travel training. We offer instruction so that clients can become more independent.
We discover their job-related interests and provide vocational training, support and coaching.
Through assessment (including pictorial for non-readers) , we highlight their strengths and interests, explore job environments, find appealing duties and responsibilities to discover vocations to further investigate and pilot. For clients who are hired for positions, we offer job coaching.
We inspire to be active in the community by engaging in volunteer opportunities.
Clients enjoy helping others, practicing communication skills, and interacting with others in the community. Being a part of our local community develops a sense of purpose and belonging and promotes diversity and inclusion.
We train to access community resources.
We visit libraries and City and Regional Parks in all our neighboring cities. Clients obtain Clipper cards and we learn travel training by BART, bus and ferry and Paratransit for those that require more assistance.
We foster socialization and peer engagement through fun and engaging activities.
We take trips to Pier 39; Japan Town, Scandia, San Francisco by ferry and wherever clients are interested in going and exploring. We catch the latest movies and promote creativity through arts and crafts, music and dance.
We promote a healthy lifestyle with good nutrition and physical fitness.
