Dedicated to providing programs to ensure a life of dignity and respect, with acknowledgement of abilities and strengths, to enable a life without limits.

The REACH West Adult Program provides Community- based learning to promote independence and physical well-being.

The curriculum is client centered and meaningful for each individual encompassing
Instrumental Activities of daily living
(budgeting, shopping, purchasing, food preparation)


Nutrition, healthy habits

Physical fitness

Social engagement
(music, dancing, field trips)

Job-related skill building
(tailored to their intrest and ability)

Community involvement
(Community service opportunities, travel safety and logistics)


Enrollment
Must be:

18 years or older
-
Ambulatory
-
Consumer of Regional Center
-
Living in West Contra Costa or Northern Alameda County
Must not have:

Complex medical needs requiring nursing care

We provide education, training, and support to help individuals build independence and enhance daily living skills.

We empower clients to strengthen essential life skills through hands-on learning in areas such as:

Money management, purchasing, budgeting, and banking

Time management and calendar use

Meal planning, food preparation, and cooking

Driver's education and travel training
Our goal is to equip each client with the confidence and skills to live more independently.
Vocational Exploration & Job Support

We help clients discover their vocational interests and develop workplace skills through:

Vocational and pictorial assessments

Exploration of work environments and job responsibilities

Vocational training and guided career discovery

Job coaching and on-the-job support for employed clients

Community Engagement & Volunteering

Accessing Community Resources

We teach clients how to navigate and utilize public resources through:

Travel training using BART, bus, ferry, and Paratransit services

Learning to obtain and use Clipper cards for independent travel
These experiences build confidence and expand community access.
Socialization & Recreation

We promote friendship, creativity, and fun through social and recreational activities, including:

Outings to Museums, Pier 39, Academy of Sciences, Japantown, Scandia, San Francisco, fruit
picking (Brentwood) -
Movies, arts and crafts, music, and dance
Each activity encourages self-expression, exploration, and peer interaction.
Health, Nutrition & Fitness
We promote wellness through cooking and fitness education. In our Cooking Classes, clients:

Prepare healthier versions of favorite foods

Cook meals from scratch using fresh ingredients
